Holiday time is here! If you are planning to holiday in the UK or driving in Europe this year, our advice would be: ‘Get your car’s alignment checked before you go!’
As part of a proper four wheel alignment there are two main stages, both of which can identify if there are any areas of your car’s geometry that requires attention before setting off on your holidays.
Stage1 – The Pre-alignment check.
This can be considered as a basic health check of your wheel and tyre assembly, including checking:
• Tyre Condition – checking on tread and signs of damage
• Tyre Pressures - checking they are set to the correct pressure, in accordance to the motor manufacturers settings,
• Suspension and steering components - checking for wear and damage.
Stage 2 - Alignment measurement and adjustment.
This will ensure your car’s geometry is set to motor manufactures specification, ensuring optimum vehicle handling and minimal rolling resistance, which all goes to give a smoother drive, better fuel efficiency and improved tyre mileage.
Remember - If your car is going to be fully loaded or towing, tyre pressures are going be different from normal usage. So do check!
