Fuel for Thought

The lobby group FairFuel UK will be paying a visit to Downing Street today, to hand in a letter to Government asking for a three pence cut in fuel duty in this month’s Budget.Petrol-prices_2540228b

While this is potentially good news for all of us motorists, it’s a campaign that has been ongoing for some time, so is probably unlikely to yield any immediate results – especially as fuel prices have fallen significantly in the last year or so.

However, there is a quicker, easier and guaranteed way to cut your fuel bills and motoring costs, and that’s by having your wheels correctly aligned regularly.

When your wheels are misaligned, their rolling resistance or the force needed to make them roll along the road, increases, meaning your car will use more fuel.

Perhaps even more importantly, your tyres will wear out much quicker meaning they need replacing more often. And with tyres often costing well in excess of £100 each, the savings here could be far greater than any concession the Government may make to fuel duty.

So, if you’re concerned about the cost of motoring but haven’t had your alignment checked recently, perhaps it’s time you paid a visit to your nearest AlignMyCarCentre to see how they can help you save some money.
